Watercare

Watercare with Sally On Monday room 7 was really lucky to have Sally from watercare. She taught us a lot about drains and what they do with our water. Sally also did an experiment using food coloring, salt, spoons and tubes. It was fun making rainbows with Sally. I learnt a lot about what happens to water and what the superbug does. Thank you Sally for coming to room7!

News report

Yush! I got invited to Hannah’s Halloween party. Everyone adored Hannah because she was pretty, smart, kind, thoughtful and lots more well Hannah is very popular at school so its kinda hard to get invited to one of her parties. But I just realised I needed a costume.

I think my introduction is great because it has a hook and I have given a hint about the problem.

Portage RD

On this map you will see that I had scribbled the area of Portage RD

Its used as a  crossing between the two bodies of water. The over side of Tamaki river as transportation hub.

The Tamaki area goes from PT England to MT Wellington down to Panmure and along The Tamaki River.

in this area since I was 4 years old so its been 6 years thats how long I have lived in the Tamaki area

Motat with the holiday program

Today we went to motat! It was great there were people acting like they were in those day and there was a awesome puppet play very funny. The train ride was awesome too. they had the same olden games like at the Historical Village! We all had fun.

Parakai pools with the school holiday program

On Wednesday the holiday program took us to the parakai pools.

The bus ride was very long and boring but it was okay.

When we got there we had to listen to the rules first then we had lunch before we went swimming.

We were allowed on the slides they were massive! I loved the slides best but the spa was okay but very hot. That was great going there can't wait for the next time.   

The smurfs 2

On October the 2th

Me, Mengchun, Leenas & Caitlin went to Sylvia park to go to the movies to watch The Smurfs 2.
The movie was great we ate lots of treats in the cinema. After the movie was finish my mum took us to print some photos at this store. The people at that store let us play on the xbox 360 it was this dancing game it was the bomb. Later on my mum took us to burger king to have something to eat before we left. Anyway we all had a Smurftastic time can't wait for next time.

Term 3 Reflection

Term 3 Reflection.

This term I have enjoyed the school production. I enjoyed this activity because I had fun making props and playing the ukulele with my friends. Learning about landforms was new for me I learned lots about them. I am really proud of myself because I Had a great term with my friends and my teacher.

Next term I need to come to school more to learn even better.

I’m pleased about my performance because my voice was loud and clear for the audience. I was proud of our classes performance because we had lots of energy. I think I need to stop fidgeting when I’m on the stage and try to stand still. I think I could make our classes performance better by doing more strong actions and use lots of energy.

I found this article about Pompeii & Herculaneum. When Mount Vesuvius in Italy erupted, Destroying Villages and towns. I learn't that Very hot poisonous gases and ashes that spread around you could kill you. I found this article very interesting.

How Rivers are formed;

Water rubs on the surface & breaking down of the land, causing a deepness to the land appearing, and in turn creating a river stream that moves.

Definition,

A river is a huge stream of water flowing into the ocean, lake, or other body of water for example Waikato River.

On Wednesday 4 of September we were all lucky to have Bruce Potter to come to our school. he was a great writer and a very good singer.

Bruce Potter was great artiest he did this picture of a bear on motorbike that looked cool as.

He also made cool stories I liked penny the pooping cow story.

My Recount

                               Skateland  

We were all so excited. We were waiting in line to hire skates. It was the biggest line I had seen. But at last it came to the end it was our turn next my mum paid for us. We got our inline skates put them on and we took off onto the rink. Me, Mengchun, Taharangi and Brodie started to play tag but Mengchun didn’t know how to skate fast so we went easy on her. A while later a loud noise came from the speaker it was game time. All you had to do was listen to different beeps and do the actions they told us to do. I loved that game! Hard but fun.

After we all got hungry so we all went to my mum who was sitting down somewhere. We asked her if we could have something to eat. She gave us our drink bottles and she shared some chicken chips Yum “thanks Glennis” we all

said. Back onto the rink and a guy came onto the rink too he said it was racing time! So the people who wanted to race sat in the middle of the rink.

First he said 12 under race was first We all wanted to go but most of them were huge so we decided not too. Anyways we had 2 hours of fun. But it was time to go home. What a great day I had can’t wait for next time.

My wacky Tale

The Beach

Hooray! Summer is finally here, and that means we can go to the beach! Today, my family is going to Auckland 

Beach, and I can bring a friend with me. I decide to invite my best friend Orica. I know Orica will want to go with us. She thinks going to the beach is pretty!

We start our beach day by watching the sunrise, and then eating breakfast at Uncle Logan's Pancake Hut. I always get Pie flavored pancakes.

After breakfast we splashed the waves, go Splashing for seashells, and pushed a sandcastle. Then we eat the lunch we packed for the beach. It's my favorite—pizza sandwiches. The only time pizza sandwiches are not so Cool is when you drop them in the sand.

By 10:30, everyone's had enough of the beach. But Auckland Beach is fun at night, too! There is a really Big boardwalk. It's always crowded with people. Would you believe we saw my teacher Mrs Miller there, eating a huge banana split?

There are a lot of cool shops on the boardwalk. You can get a little hermit Panda, but make sure your mom and dad say it's okay! My favorite store is the jewelry store. Orica and I each buy a rope bracelet that will swims when it gets wet. Pretty Sweet!

By 8:00, we're all ready to head home. I usually fall asleep on the ride home. I can't wait to go to Auckland Beach again.

Swimming

 Our school is very lucky to have the pool.

We have been learning Free style dolphin dive & many more. Our swimming teachers have been the best so far can't wait for the next swimming class.

Duffy Show

On Tuesday 30th of July we were lucky enough to have a Duffy show.

This Duffy show was called Duffy loses his words

it was really funny we all enjoyed it is about Duffy losing his words in his sleep and he 

needs his words back so Duffy can still read to his little brother scruffy

and his words are stolen by the mean professor word sharks.

Skate Land

On Friday Me, Mengchun & one of my other friends Teharangi 
went to skate land.
It was super fun skating around the rink. We also tried to play tag but it was way to hard but it
was fun can't wait to go again.   

The Howick Historical Village

Yesterday the whole senior block went to the Howick Historical Village.
We had lots of fun. My best part was when we played with the olden day toys. The best toy that I played with was Jacobs ladder. It was cool when you put on the Jacob and watch Jacob come down the ladder  but he fall of at the end. The part that I didn't like was when we had to go to school but the past rules. The teacher was very loud. It was so scary because we had to have health inspections when the teacher checks your nails.

My Floor planner

This is my Future classroom I have put in a little room for Mrs Smith because it its nice and quiet for her group to work in. Also a music area so when it rains we will have something fun to do.

How well did I do with my speech?

My speech topic was That we should invent money trees.

My voice was loud & clear.

I stood still but un relaxed.

The hardest part of speeches was saying it in front of the class.

I am proud of being loud enough.

Next time I will say it slower.

Past Education

I learnt that all the things in the school past was different to what we do now.I liked learning about how the school past manage to learn in different ways.

Our visit from Des Hunt.

The author Des Hunt came to visit us today. He used chemistry and physics to teach us about writing. He made it inserting and Fun. I learnt that writing a story could be fun .
